LOL Video Satire: "Medieval Help-Desk" (or, "Why Books Shouldn't Replace Scrolls")

Published January 29, 2009 @ 06:48PM PT

The. Funniest. Satire. Ever.

Norway pegs technophobes with "Medieval Help-desk" (a.k.a., "Introducing the Book").

The perfect dessert after the last post's snark-fest. Seriously, watch it. It's, um, scholastic proof that we should never have abandoned the scroll.

Clay -  Thank you for sending that our way tonight.  I am in the midst of writing comments that accompany grades which we record on-line  - and by the way people behave as they do this, you would think that it was rocket science.  Then, as I am planning to not sleep for three days so that I can write the 50 page essay that is a narrative comment for 70 students, one of my colleagues emails me AGAIN to ask me how to add notes to our wiki.  And I'm thinking...Did I not explain this six times in the lab last year?  Did I not walk you through this a month ago when you asked the last time?  Why don't we go back to the mimeograph machine?  That at least had that great smell on the pages from the solvent.  So thank you for a really great laugh and some much needed perspective.  There will always be people who insist on turning whatever we are using upside down and backwards.

An old colleague of mine emailed me yesterday for advice on how to get a tech coordinator job. I gave him advice on why he might not want to get one.
